The Associate of Science in Teaching Degree in Middle Grades Education (Science) is an education specialty designed to prepare individuals to teach science to students in grades 6–8. The Middle Grades Science AST is a two-year program designed for students planning to continue their studies toward a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university. Completion of a bachelor’s degree can lead to teacher licensure in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Science, allowing graduates to teach in public or private middle school settings.
