Admission Requirements
To apply to the Veterinary Technology Program, complete the following steps, in the order listed:
- Complete and submit an application for admission to the college.
- Forward an official high school (or GED) transcript and any college transcripts to the college. Have them mailed directly to:
- If under the age of 21, also forward ACT test scores to Columbia State. If English, math or composite scores are below 19, a placement test is required. If you are over the age of 21 (the ACT score will be > 3 years old), and you have never taken college level courses or a placement test before, then a placement test will be required. The placement test will determine if you need to take additional learning support classes before beginning the veterinary technology program.
- Complete the Veterinary Technology Program Packet. Application deadline is March 1st annually.
- Submit a letter of reference.
- Review the Veterinary Technology Program Student Policy Manual available online. Each student must sign and submit the form on the last page of the manual electronically to vettechapp@columbiastate.edu.
- Please complete the items listed above and submit an application packet electronically by emailing to: vettechapp@columbiastate.edu.
Review of applications will begin after March 1st deadline. Eligible candidates who have complete college and program applications will be invited to interview in April/May. Applications may be accepted after the March 1st deadline. Students interested in the program are encouraged to apply even after the deadline. Applicants who submit materials after the deadline will be considered on space available basis. All learning support requirements must be completed prior to beginning Veterinary Technology classes. Class size is limited.
The program enrollment is limited and admission is not guaranteed. New classes begin only in the fall semester.
