The technologist’s role is to maintain and troubleshoot equipment; inventory, distribution and management of consumables; perform routine point of care testing as well as assist with patient positioning, airway management and IV and central line placement.

The Anesthesia Technologist is an integral member of the anesthesia care team. The technologist has diverse and multi‐level functions in the areas of equipment care and maintenance as well as support services for the entire anesthesia team in routine and complex surgical cases. Anesthesia Technologists may work in a variety of clinical settings such as hospital operating rooms, interventional and diagnostic radiology, post anesthesia care units, intensive care units, cardiac catheterization laboratories, emergency rooms, endoscopy suites, dental suites, pain management clinics and ambulatory surgery centers.
How long is the program? Columbia State’s program is designed with a focus on general education/foundation courses Fall/Spring of the first academic year. A new cohort of students will start the intense sequence of core courses each summer for three semesters (12 months.)
The program provides: Competency based classroom and clinical experiences which provides students with the tools for credentialing examination success, gainful in-field employment, and career satisfaction.
