Columbia State To Host Dual Enrollment and Freshmen Info Sessions

Columbia State logo

Columbia State Community College will host virtual Dual Enrollment and Freshmen Information Sessions.

“We started these virtual sessions during the pandemic, and they were so popular we have continued them,” said Dr. Dearl Lampley, Columbia State vice president of the Williamson Campus and external services. “We offer sessions about every two weeks and these are open to anyone regardless of where they are located. No registration required. Just click the link!”

The info sessions are designed for high school juniors and seniors and parents/guardians interested in learning more about dual enrollment classes or attending Columbia State.

These sessions are an opportunity for students, their family, and high school counselors, to meet with Columbia State personnel virtually and find out about college programs, dual enrollment, scholarships, free tuition opportunities and transferability of college credit.

The information sessions will cover the Dual Enrollment grant, which will provide high school students the opportunity to take up to four dual enrollment courses tuition-free while still in high school.

Students and parents/guardians will have an opportunity to ask general questions, schedule a campus tour and learn about the application steps.

In addition, participants can learn more about Tennessee Promise, which allows graduating high school and home school seniors the opportunity to earn a degree or certificate from a community or technical college tuition-free.

The information sessions can be joined via Teams at www.ColumbiaState.edu/CampusTour.
