Columbia State’s Williamson Campus Announces 2024 Summer Camps

Columbia State Community College’s Williamson Campus is excited to announce summer camps for 2024.

The Bruises, Burns and Blood Camp, an introduction to special effects makeup, will run from July 15 - 19 for rising 5th through 8th grade students. Campers will be introduced to special effects makeup materials and techniques. Special effects makeup will be taught, such as simple molding and casting, as well as latex prostheses.

Introduction to Robotics: Battle Bots will run from July 8 - 12 for rising 6th through 8th graders. This camps will promote excitement for science, technology, engineering and math. Participants will build several robots during the camp, ultimately modifying and programming one for a BattleBot competition at the end of the camp.

From Script to Screen will run from July 15 – 19 for ages 14 to 17. This conservatory camp will provide students with hands-on experience with professional film and video production equipment and processes.

The Tools of Innovation Summer Camp will run from July 22 – 26 for rising 6th through 8th graders. Students will master tools and technologies such a 3D printers, CNC, and a vinyl cutter in order to overcome design challenges and build a showcase product in Columbia State’s new Pamela Stephens and Tim Kalthoff Innovation Lab.
