(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 15, 2017) - - - Mark Cabus, Tennessee Performing Arts Center performer and nationally renowned stage and film actor, returns to Columbia State Community College to present his one-man performance of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Ledbetter Auditorium.

In Cabus' unique one-man show he performs over 20 characters ranging from Ebenezer Scrooge to Bob and Mrs. Cratchit, to Tiny Tim, the corner boy selling turkeys and a host of ghosts, spooks and creepy characters. Expertly conceived and exquisitely staged, Cabus turns whatever environment he finds himself in into a dramatically charged place that provides fun, warmth and holiday excitement for the whole family.

"Cabus is no stranger to the area or to the national acting community," said Dr. Stuart Lenig, Columbia State professor of communications and drama. "He has performed "A Christmas Carol" at Columbia State twice, and provides a warm and inspiring way for the community to embrace the holiday season. It is a pleasure to have him back with us for this wonderful production."

Cabus' adaptation of the familiar story is filled with surprises - the program features a fun opportunity for the audience to become involved. While anyone can sit back and watch in full comfort, Cabus makes opportunities available for the members of the audience to share the stage and drama with him and usually every show finds a few new stars to add to the story.

The event is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by the Columbia State Theater Department and Office of International Education. The Ledbetter Auditorium is in the Frank G. Clement building located at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
