Columbia State Announces Holiday Performance - "Swirl the Musical"

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 4, 2015) - - - The Columbia State Community College commercial entertainment program will present its 21st annual holiday performance, featuring "Swirl The Musical," on Nov. 24 and Dec. 12.
Join Cindy and Peppermint for an adventure into the world of Christmas as seen through a child's imagination. With the help of Peppermint, the Christmas Fairy, Cindy discovers anything you can imagine is "Just A Christmas Wish Away." Join the fun as Cindy visits the world of Scrooge, a super hero, a princess party, and many other snow globe worlds.
"'Swirl the Musical' is an original production," said Cathy Hudnall, director and assistant professor of the commercial entertainment program. "For adults and children alike, this hour-long show is a perfect way to celebrate the holiday season with your family."
The Nov. 24 show begins at 2 p.m. in the Cherry Theater located in the Waymon L. Hickman Building on the Columbia Campus. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.
The Dec. 12 show begins at 2 p.m. at the 4th Ave. Church of Christ in Franklin. The lobby doors open at 1 p.m. Park early as the show is the same day as the Dickens Festival.
Children are invited to enjoy preshow activities in the lobby before each performance, along with photo opportunities with the cast members after each show.
Tickets for both shows are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and children ages 3 - 10. They can be purchased online at www.SwirlTheMusical.com or prior to each performance based on availability.
The Columbia Campus is located at 1665 Hampshire Pike in Columbia. The 4th Ave. Church of Christ is located at 117 4th Ave North in Franklin.

Music and lyrics were written by Hudnall and David Rivers, adjunct instructor of commercial songwriting. The musical is a collaboration between Hudnall, Rivers and Laura Carroll, adjunct instructor of dance and choreography, with dialogue revision assistance from Jamie Potter, commercial entertainment program graduate.
