(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - March 12, 2013) - - - Columbia State Community College's Center for Workforce Development is offering a variety of professional development courses during the month of March. Courses include computer, health care and leadership training for anyone who would like to learn new skills or refresh the skills they already have.

In Microsoft Project 2010, students will learn how to effectively plan, implement and control projects using Microsoft Project 2010. Learn how to think through and organize a project's details, plan a schedule, sequence tasks, produce a baseline, assign resources and costs, track project progress, identify and analyze variances, and revise the project plan. This class will be on the Columbia campus on Friday, March 22.

Intermediate QuickBooks 2010 is a course that includes banking and billing activities, working with reports and budgets, protecting and backing up data, and more. This class will take place on the Williamson County campus on Saturday, March 23.

Introduction to Graphic Information Systems covers basic skills involved in using geographic information system software. Upon completion of this 15-hour course, students will be able to display data, search data, edit data, and produce simple maps. In addition, students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned to projects similar to what they would do back at their jobs. The class meets on Mondays and will begin at the Williamson County campus on Monday, March 25 and extend through April 22.

The Pharmacy Technician certificate program is a 50-hour that qualifies students for immediate employment in Tennessee's growing healthcare industry. The class is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 26 and extends through Tuesday, May 14. The class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Columbia campus.

Online Medical Transcription prepares students for a career in a healthcare profession that is in great need of knowledgeable and skilled professionals. The medical transcription program involves an intense curriculum that prepares individuals to be employable and achieve their financial goals. This class will begin on Monday, March 18 at the Columbia campus.

Coaching for Success is offered in conjunction with the leadership series. This course will help students learn how to prepare people for successfully handling challenging situations and tasks, expand teams capabilities to give the organization a competitive edge, delegate with confidence in the team's ability to assume new responsibilities, and spend less time reacting to problems. This class will be on the Columbia campus Thursday, March 21.

Effective implementation of change can be a major challenge for organizations. It can be difficult, and change can result in failure. The Successful Organizational Change course helps students better understand the change cycle, what to expect, and how to build support for change. This class will be on Friday, March 22 and includes four hours of instruction, CEU's and a certificate of completion.
