Kim Robinson Signs With Lady Chargers
Cookeville Senior Will Play Softball at Columbia State
Columbia State Community College's Lady Chargers softball team recently announced the signing of Cookeville High School senior catcher Kim Robinson. She plans to study criminal justice and hopes to transfer to Tennessee Tech after her two years at Columbia State.
"Kim Robinson's ability behind the plate is what we were looking at with her catching," Lady Chargers softball head coach Johnny Littrell told Craig Delk of the Cookeville Herald-Citizen. "And she swings a good bat. But, more than anything, it's her personality. She has a good work ethic. We've been watching her play not only high school ball, but also summer travel ball. She seems to put her all in, and you can tell she loves the game, and those are the kinds of players we are looking for."
"I went up to (Columbia State) to try out, and I liked the field and everything," Robinson told Delk, of the Herald-Citizen. "It's a really nice school. It's small, so I think it (will better suit me)."
The membership fee for the Chargers Athletics Booster Club is $100. Membership includes entry to all games for all family members. Individual tickets are $4 for the general public, $2 for children under 10 and senior citizens, and $2 for students (with college ID).
