Lawrence County's Crockett Hospital and Lifepoint, Inc. Make Donations To Columbia State

Crockett Hospital recently presented a $1,000 donation to Columbia State Community College as part of the 2009-2010 Annual Fund in Lawrence County. Columbia State President Dr. Janet Smith accepted the check from Crockett Hospital CEO Jack Buck.

Lifepoint, Inc. - based out of Crockett Hospital - also made a $5,000 scholarship donation to Columbia State. The recipient was radiology student Alicia Fleming.

"I can't begin to express what the scholarship means to me and my family," said Fleming. "The money is most definitely helpful. But more than the monetary value, I so greatly appreciate the thought and generosity behind it. College is tough to get through holding down a job and raising a family but your actions have really lightened the load. For that especially, I thank everyone involved."
