Check Out & Return Instructions

The Technology Access Form is a request for laptops. Once your request has been approved you will receive an email from the library letting you know it's available for pick-up.

The laptop must be returned to the library on the due date at the end of the semester. Do not put in drop-off box outside of library. Make sure to include all accessories.

To check out a calculator, book, or Earth Science kit, students will need to show their picture ID and a copy of their schedule to the Library staff at the Circulation Desk. Students will receive a check-out receipt with the item’s due date.

Only books and calculators may be deposited in the Library Return Bins located on these campuses:

• Columbia: South entrance of the Library facing the Jones Student Center
• Lawrence: 169 Southern Tennessee Lane on the west side of the building (the side near the student parking lot)
• Williamson: Flagpole entrance of the Administration Building
• Lewisburg: All returns go to the Front Desk.
• Clifton: All returns go to the Front Desk.

Students can return calculators and books to any campus regardless of where they originally checked them out. 

Please DO NOT drop laptops, hot-spots or webcams into the Library Return Bins!

If returning by mail be sure to use protective packaging for calculators and books and mail them to:

To renew a laptop, hot spot or webcam, email HelpDesk@ColumbiaState.edu. 

To renew books, students can visit, call or email the library and renew up to two times for two weeks per time.

Calculators cannot be renewed and must be returned by the due date then checked out again for another semester if the student is in an approved Math class.

If students have not returned all checked-out items by the last day of exams, a Hold will be placed on the student’s account until the items are either returned or paid for.
